Adding colour and pattern to precious metals may be difficult and time consuming, especially when using vitreous enamels, but when the colour and shape work together it brings a piece to life. The shapes used can come from cutting and collaging, printing in paint or tracing. Once extracted these patterns can be replicated in three dimensions using precious metals, enamels and stones. The patterns on tropical fish, lizards or microscopic creatures are used but magnified and distorted or repeated.
